Marketing - the OKS-Olimp d.o.o. Company

In 2005, striving to update OCS-ASF business activities by separating the sport from the commercial activities, and following the example of the IOC and some NOCs, a new company, OKS-Olimp d.o.o. was founded by the OCS-ASF, taking the responsibility for performing services necessary for the OCS marketing along with the OCS-ASF financial and accounting activities.
The extent of the companyâ??s activities is divided into two areas where the service section is concentrated on the accounting and logistic sphere, while the commercial area is focused on the field of providing service to the OCS-ASF business partners panel. Although being established on the basis of a professionalized sport marketing agency, the company includes also projects targeting the OCS-ASF member associations in its priority strategic goals. The projects are aiming to develop marketing programmes and plans for sports associations and federations national teamsâ?? structures or for individual athletes, including also educational seminars and, upon special agreement, performing also pure marketing activities for external partners.
Concerning the OCS-ASF, the company will be developing several other support programmes, providing expert and technical support, professionalism of business realisation, in order to reduce the OCS-ASF operation costs by consolidating its employees in logistics, marketing and accounting, and to enable the OCS-ASF to focus on co-operation with its members.
Finally, the provision of financial accounting services for its members represents an important part of the OKS-Olimp d.o.o. activities, being one of the most proficient accounting services in the area of sport finances in the country, and comprises the following activities:
- Management of financial-material operations for sports organisations
- Partial execution of accounting and financial services
- Offering and delivering complete package services.
The company's work started with the Olympic Winter Games Turin 2006, when the first partnership agreements for Turin â?? Vancouver were signed.
The programmes of the OCS-ASF activities depend considerably on the financial funds available, thus a considerable share of private funds is needed for the sports organisations to survive. The structure of income dealt with separately, reveals that private funds represent the biggest share of the total OCSASF budget.
Marketing activities, prevailingly supported by domestic and foreign economy â?? business partners in the sponsor, partner, donator and IOC TOP partner category â?? provide a more than 50% share of the total OCS-ASF budget. The funds provided by its own marketing programme represent a significant share in the realisation of the programmes of the Top Sports, Sport for All, Commune-Level Sport committees and the Slovenian Olympic Academy. Besides, our aim is to accomplish the vision by setting up a successful Olympic Family, which comprises top level athletes, member national federations and business
partners of the OCS-ASF, including all their synergy linkages in order to reach the following goals:
- Provide optimal conditions for an effective preparation and performance at all the biggest events,
- Assist member federations in reducing their activity costs,
- Create a long-term and optimal marketing programme that assures the cooperating business partners to maximise the benefits deriving from their investments.
The marketing business is constantly developing and is oriented towards finding modern ways of professionalizing the procedures and operation of marketing programmes in line with the needs of the umbrella sports organisation and its members.

The number of cooperating partners as well as the diversity of the benefits from the programme is steadily spreading and, accordingly, also the total value of benefits is increasing, reaching approx. 250,000 EUR in 2006.
