Aim of the project

During the Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, Slovenia House will efficiently promote Slovenia at the biggest winter sports competition. Not only Slovenian sports, but also Slovenian tourism, culture, cuisine, economy and Slovenia as a whole will be promoted.

The GOC has also been actively involved in this project. The Slovenia House and some other premises at the Olympic Village will be furnished in accordance with the "I feel Slovenia" brand image.

Economic promotion will take place with the visits of our sponsors' representatives and several prominent Slovenian business people in Vancouver during the Olympic Games. With the kind assistance of the Slovenian Embassy in Ottawa, we wish to offer them an opportunity to establish many new business contacts, which will contribute to a further development of Slovenian companies.

During the Games, the Slovenian Tourist Board will organize a workshop on Slovenia, intended for people employed in the field of tourism in North America, and present the beauties of Slovenia and its culinary delights at an "Hour for Guests", which will take place at the Slovenia House from 5 to 6 p.m. daily.

Many Slovenia House activities will, of course, focus on Slovenian athletes, giving them the opportunity to meet with other visitors in an informal environment. If Slovenian athletes will win any medals, a special reception will be organized for them in the Slovenia House, as well.
