Presentation of the House

Slovenia House is situated at the location of Mountain Club within the Westinn Resort hotel at the outskirts of the pedestrian area in the centre of Whistler Village, where the majority of social events during the Olympic Games and the competitions on the slopes of Whistler Mountain and in Callahan Valley will be taking place. We must point out that distances from the Whistler Mountain area to any of the Olympic venues are relatively short (up to 20 minutes by car).

Location of Slovenia House:

Slovenia House has a separate entrance directly from the street, which enables us to carry out our activities in the centre of Whistler Village independently.

Entrance in Slovenia House:

With 150 m2, the interior gives us a lot of flexibility in re-arranging the furnishings so as to fit various events which will be held at the House (an exhibition on Slovenia, official receptions at the intergovernmental level, workshops, conferences, receptions for Slovenian medal winners, etc.).

Anticipated arrangement during WO 2010:

The interior will feature characteristic images of Slovenia (nature, tourist attractions, sports activities) which we wish to present to the different publics visiting Slovenia House.

Within Slovenia House, a special media corner for live broadcasts to Slovenia (radio and/or TV) will be arranged, from where it will be possible to broadcast Slovenia House activities via the internet as well. An essential element of Slovenia House will be the presentation of Slovenian cuisine accompanied by tastings of premium Slovenian wines.
