Safe Harbour is an initiative that brings together key stakeholders in European sport with one common goal - to ensure a safe, inclusive and protective environment for all athletes.
The meeting laid a solid foundation for future work, with experts from the European Olympic Committee (EOC), the International Olympic Committee (IOC), academics field and National Olympic Committees highlighting the importance of protecting athletes from all forms of abuse. Participants, among which were also NOC Slovenia representatives, discussed past experiences, current challenges and best practices in this field, and presented a vision and strategy for future work.
We are proud that the Slovenian Olympic Committee will actively contribute to the development of effective protection mechanisms and policies that will strengthen athlete safety at all levels. Our participation in a number of European projects in this field confirms that safeguarding in sport is one of our key priorities.
